The 39th annual ADDY Awards competition, the local advertising industry's awards program, will accept entries from advertising professionals and area students on Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 5:50 to 9 p.m. Entries should be forwarded to the Miami Ad School, 955 Alton Rd., Miami Beach 33139. All entries must be received by 9 p.m. The competition is open to any individual, company or organization engaged in the creation of advertising. Local single entry fees are $55 for members and $105 for non-members. The local campaign entry fee is $70 for members and $140 for non-members. Entry fees for students are discounted at $12 per single entry and $15 per campaign. Judged by top creative directors from advertising agencies nationwide, outstanding entries will receive Gold ADDY and Silver ADDY award. The highest scoring entry in each category will advance to compete at the district level and district winners advance to the prestigious American Advertising Awards national competition. Begun in 1960, the local ADDY competition is presented by the Advertising Federation of Greater Miami. Proceeds from the event benefit local internship and scholarship programs, public service and consumer awareness campaigns.
