Students invited to walk

BY MIRIAM MARTINEZ

Miami-Dade County students are invited to raise funds to help save babies during the 13th annual March of Dimes SuperWalk at Metrozoo on Saturday, Jan. 29.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk is 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

For just a minimum of $15 in donations, walkers will be treated to free admission to the zoo, a picnic, games, music, and educational tours by Zoological Society volunteers.

All participants should bring their collected donations in a sealed envelope to the SuperWalk. Sponsor forms are available at any Miami-Dade Public Library or you may pick up a form the day of the event. Walkers who raise $25 or more receive a SuperWalk

T-shirt, and those who raise $300 or more are eligible to win AirTran airline tickets, a computer, and many more top prizes.

Parents/guardians wishing to accompany their children must pay the $8 admission price to Metrozoo. Walkers' admission is included in their donation.

The March of Dimes is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Funds raised from SuperWalk will help the March of Dimes carry out this mission through programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy.

Metrozoo is located at 12400 SW 152 St.

For more information, call the March of Dimes at 305-477-1192.
