Lakes by the Bay receives Perrine-CR Council award |

The residential community of Lakes by the Bay, located at Old Cutler Road and SW 216th Street, has received the Beautification Award for the month of February from the Perrine-Cutler Ridge Council. Frieda Brown, vice president of TotalBank, (left) is pictured with Tara Walker, property manager for Continental Group, which maintains Lakes by the Bay. This is the 19th business in the Perrine-Cutler Ridge area to be so honored by the council. The monthly award recognizes those businesses in the Perrine-Cutler Ridge communities that help to make the community a more attractive place to live and work through careful attention to their physical facilities and landscaping, excellent maintenance and attractive overall design. Sponsored by Total Bank, the award is presented to a different business each month. In addition to receiving a framed certificate, the winning business will be able to post a sign on its property designating it as the month's "Beautification Award Winner." The Perrine-Cutler Ridge Council Beautification Award program was designed to promote awareness of business owners' pride in their establishments, as well as to foster a sense of pride in the aesthetic aspects of the community. Nominations for this award should be forwarded to the Council's attention at 900 Perrine Ave., Perrine, FL 33157. Previous winners of the award include AutoNation USA, Blanchard Machinery, Cami's Restaurant, Batteries Plus, Busy Bee Car Wash, Abby Child Care Center, Burger King Corporation, D & B Tile, South Dade Shopping Center, Miami Acura, Henry's Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Dadeland Dodge, Unique Home Design, A Small World School 2, Colonial Bank on Old Cutler Road, Ideal Warehouse, II Pappagallo Restaurant, and Baptist Medical Plaza at SW 144th Street. Founded in 1992, the Perrine-Cutler Ridge Council is a public/private not-for-profit Economic Development Corporation. The council's overall objective is to implement an economic development program that will foster a positive image for the community, attract new businesses that create quality jobs for area residents, while diversifying and strengthening the economic base consistent for the future of Perrine and Cutler Ridge.
