J. Bolado Clothiers wins Gables Kiwanis' small business award

The Kiwanis Club of Coral Gables awarded this year's Pat Murphy Small Business Award to Carlos Bolado, owner of J. Bolado Clothiers of Coral Gables.

David Carroll, president of Carroll's Jewelers, presented the award during a Tuesday meeting of the Kiwanis. Carroll chairs the award committee for the Kiwanis and is a longtime member of the club.

Criteria for the award includes quality of service and business practices, employee relations, fair competition, civic involvement and company growth.

The award is named in honor of Pat Murphy, a loyal Kiwanian for many years and the owner-operator of Coral Gables Air Conditioning for 38 years. Murphy died in 1981.
