A mayor's candidate forum

Eugene P. Flinn, Jr., Chairperson, Palmetto Bay Steering Committee

A mayor's candidate forum will be held at the First Baptist Church of Perrine on Monday, June 12, 2000 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Residents can educate themselves before casting that important vote.

This will be the first citizens' forum for this 2000 mayor's race. Incumbent Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Miguel Diaz de la Portilla will address our South Miami-Dade area.

This forum is sponsored by the Palmetto Bay Steering Committee, Inc., West Dade Federation of Homeowners Association, Inc., Kendall Voters Alliance, and LINC (Let's Incorporate Now Coalition).

Date : Monday, June 12, 2000

Time : 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Place: First Baptist Church of Perrine (Perrine Baptist Church) Church Sanctuary 8900 S.W. 168th Street, Palmetto Bay

The candidates will make an opening statement followed by answering 10 previously prepared questions on various topics affecting Miami-Dade County.

Members of the audience will be invited to step up and ask their own questions following the above question and answer period.

Directions : US1 to S.W. 168th Street, turn East and follow East on 168th until reaching First Baptist Church of Perrine (Corner of 168th and 90th Avenue).
